The ASUS laptops including the K series, Zenbook and Zenbook Prime are great computers to use with a usb operating systems once you enable the ability to boot from USB.
 
This procedure will apply for most Asus laptops from 2010 to current.
 
1) Turn off your computer, unplug the usb boot drive.
2) Turn on your computer, the black screen will have a message ‘Press __ for setup’ or ‘Press __ to enter BIOS’
For an Asus laptop it should be DEL or F2
3) Using your cursor keys go to BOOT, UEFI setting should be changed to Disabled or Bios/Legacy mode.

4) Update the Boot options to include USB Drives
5) Save and Exit.
 
With the computer off, plug in your usb boot drive, power on your computer, it should boot to the usb.
