Shelby, Shelby, Shelby. The "S" in Shelby certainly doesn't stand for "Service," "Smile," "Satisfactory," or "Sales." These are the facts and only the facts, so that you can induce your own conclusion. 1. As a part of my charity work, every year I make gift backs for the Suicide Prevention Hotline, I came to Office Depot to print out and laminate Affirmation cards. 2. I waited while they were no customers at the printer desk for 5 minutes while Shelby stood there, aware of my presence, but apparently doing some chores or other work. 3. I watched her turn and walk away from me to the other side of the printer desk, where she greeted a new customer who had just arrived. 4. I watched her greet the new customer, so I stepped behind that one and "waited my turn." (In this location, she'd have to grasp that I'm also customer, right?). 5. After another 3 minutes passes, that customer leaves, and I step up to the counter, hopeful that I would get assistance this time. 6. I set the example set of cards down to demonstrate what I need. As I reach for my phone to show her the printouts that I need, she invites the next customer up, effectively dismissing me, just as file pops up. 7. I tell her, "I've been waiting for 10 minutes for you to assist me. I was here before the customer you just helped and these 3 customers who just showed up behind me. I'll leave and come back when they are gone." 7. I leave the store and come back 10 minutes later. 8.It's empty. 9. I approach her and ask if she "had time to attend to my request now that she wasn't so overwhelmed with customers?" 10. No answer. No smile. No apology. She looked away in evasion. 11. I explained to her that I need these two files printed, cut, and laminated. I asked for the email address. She pointed blankly to the desk with the address on it. 12. Given her demonstrated lack of verbal communication, I adjusted the instructions in my email, making them *extremely clear so she wouldn't get confused (see email below). 13. She goes to her computer, looks at it, and tells me its not here yet. (I double check the email address. It was sent correctly). "I expected as much given the circumstance. I'll wait." 14. I wait for 30 minutes in an empty store while she goes about her business, forgetting I'm there until I catch her attention, just staring...waiting...for her...to complete her assistance. She goes to the computer, "it's here." 15. She looks up and asks if meant to complain about another customer service provider in the email, one that she hoped I had talked to before she arrived. "No, I said. "That was a detail I left for your manager, who, like I said, am hoping executes these projects." 16. She asked, "What you wrote about the person being inept?" I said "yes, that was my judgment of our encounter, from start to finish." (It was a single line in the email) 17. She told me she that she is not going to do the job and asked me to leave because I was rude. 18. Frustrated, but not surprised, I said, "You've been rude and incompetent the last 45 minutes, 40 of which I should have been at dinner with my coworker." 19. She threatened to call the police. I asked for her name--Shelby--and then I left. 20. At the car, I realized I left her with my example card deck, so I went back in to retrieve. Unsurprisingly, she misplaced it, so she couldn't give it to me. I said, "this one is for the books" and I snapped a picture of her (specifically for this review, and my letter to corporate--to build context.) She threatened to call the police...again. I said, "wonderful, because now you're withholding my property. I'll send my coworker to retrieve it." 22. 10 minutes later, my coworker goes into the store, requesting the sample card deck I left in Shelby's care. Shelby was no help---again. So my coworker spoke to the manager. 23. While the manager reviewed the tapes, Shelby "found" the cards. 24. The end of an unnecessarily painful, slow, and insulting non-customer service experience from Office Depot. It's FedEx from now forward. Shelby, Shelby, Shelby :-(

I was told to answer a survey but I couldn’t find one at the bottom of my receipt!! I worked with Bob today and he was AMAZING. Very friendly, quick, and attentive. Such a pleasant and unexpected interaction that absolutely made my day!

Needed a part that showed in stock on the website but couldn’t find in the store. Eric found me an alternate part that was much better and I got it for a great price. I was greeted when I entered and the store was very clean. Will go there again

Perfect for Apple Pay users. Bought this cash Lock Box. I asked cashier where i could find it and she pointed it out immediately (H section). I grabbed it went to cashier (this time a very nice petite short haired blond) she was very nice. I paid with Apple Pay, no problem. Overall a 5 Star Experience 👍🏽
