Customer Reviews
I purchased my specialized cargo e bike from full cycle because they have such a good reputation. I added a bunch of accessories and a throttle right away since they give you a great discount window when buying a new bike (plus coffee credit for their cafe!). Last week my bike acted up and I took it in. It was a warranty repair so it was going to take some time. My bike is my main transportation so full cycle gave me a rental while it was in the shop. Excellent customer service!
Full Cycle is top notch bicycle repair. The toppest notch. The staff is friendly, skilled, professional and fun. The whole experience is clearly communicated, connected and seamless. I worked with Ezra and couldn’t be happier with the quality of service. 5 Stars, 4 Snaps in ‘Z’ formation and 3 cheers.
Very disappointed with my service today. I brought my bike in last Saturday because I was concerned about some creaking sounds coming from the crank area. The mechanic checked out the entire bike, couldn't find anything wrong with the crank/bottom bracket, and recommended that I just give it a deep clean. He also recommended that I replace my chain, replace my cassette, add more sealant, and overhaul my rear hub. I let him know that I can handle most of that maintenance but made an appointment for the rear hub overhaul. When I picked my bike up from the appointment today, I was told that they had not serviced my rear hub, but instead had adjusted my headset and replaced my bottom bracket without contacting me. When I expressed my surprise, the mechanic looked over my bike again and told me that I actually shouldn’t worry about the rear hub after all. He then told me that I could leave the bike with them again if I was concerned and that they could service the rear hub anyway. I declined and was then charged for service that I didn’t want and hadn’t approved. I have been taking my bike to Full Cycle for years, recommending them to my cycling community, and had trusted their mechanics completely. I am extremely disappointed to leave the shop today feeling like I was taken advantage of and tricked into paying for service that my bike didn’t need.
Bike manufacturer required a bike shop build my bike to activate warranty. Shipped to me, took out of the packaging to verify no damage was done as it has a carbon fork. Repackaged as it had been, brought it in. Talked with the staff about adding some used pedals I placed in the bottom of the box, informed it would likely take 5 days to receive a notification-seemed excessive for this situation. Also informed it would be anywhere from $50-180 for the bike build depending on the amount of labor. This upper range also seemed excessive since this bike was a demo unit and 90% assembled out of the box-just the handlebars, pedals and wheels needed to be mounted-where they saved space for shipping. Brakes and gears were already run, tires just needed to be mounted and inflated. Could have taken less than an hour on my own had I not desired the warranty coverage. Surprise surprise, received a message the next day saying it was done, guess it was an easy build or something. Came in to find no pedals as I had tossed them in the wrong box at home, but received no mention of that whatsoever in the message from the shop. I could have easily found them and brought the pedals with me prior to my 1hour commute into town via bus had the shop communicated this in any form or fashion. Had to buy a ridiculously colored pair in store just to get it where I needed to go for the day and make it back home before it started snowing. When they were mounting the pedals I asked where the accessory box was with promotional materials, warranty info, and reflectors that was with the bike. Desk staff was all shrugs since they didn’t build it. Requested to look in the back with a staff member and found the box tossed in the mechanic’s trash in less than a minute. Unacceptable. I’m hoping they just set an intern or slightly inebriated mechanic on this build since it was such a simple task because I had heard great reviews about this business prior to this fiasco from friends. To top it off the build was fully charged at $180 because it was a “box build.” Upon further inspection the over the next couple of days, saw that the fork has a large scrape directly across the front, not there when I dropped it off and now I get to live with it because I didn’t see it during this train wreck of a transaction. All in all, inspect your bike before you drop it off, going out of your way to make sure nothing is missing since they won’t let you know prior to your arrival. Inspect it thoroughly when you pick it up and spend extra time checking for damage and missing materials. Only positive things are that I have a completed bike now and the staff were courteous.
The service team at Full Cycle is top notch. To a person they are calm, clear, transparent and knowledgeable. The reason I bring my bike for service in the first place is because some things are just above my mechanical skill level, and the crew at Full Cycle always explains what is going on, the process for addressing the issue, and the cost and time involved. They may be a little pricey, but I feel it’s worth it to get quality service.
