Ever since the ownership changed, I have heard negative things about this place. Tries to upsell work and parts. Took my car into get looked at and they quoted me $4,500 to replace a ton of stuff for a squealing sound. Took it to another mechanic and it was $700 for a water pump. Car works fine now. Not a pleasant experience.
This review has been long in the making. I started going to Christian Brothers Automotive a few years ago, as I was having issues with my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Issues from an AC issue, to my heater core going out, to snapping a bolt on my rear shocks. They always had good customer service, my questions were answered and I didn't have any issues. There were little things here and there, an example being that after my heater core was replaced the gear lights on the shifter don't illuminate. However, that is a small thing. My final interaction with Christian Brothers Automotive is what stings the most. Around October 12 of 2023, my jeep had an electrical melt down (I do know they are notorious for that). Feeling good, I set up an appointment for Christian Brothers. It took a few days for the diagnostic but when I got the call, the issues pointed towards the wire harness in the front driver side door. The technician I had been working with had his manager explain what was going on and I was advised that due to the damage on some of the wires, it would be easier to replace the whole wire harness rather than fix the wires. It should also be noted that Chrysler no longer manufactures wire harnesses for my year and make of jeep. Due to this, they had to order one off of ebay and it would take a few weeks for the wire harness to arrive. They made my jeep drivable and I held onto it while we waited for the part to arrive. My only request was to keep the old wire harness so I could use it as a reference for the future. I was told I could take it once the repairs were completed. They did advise that replacing the wire harness might not fix everything but it was a good starting place. I was notified when the wire harness arrived and I took my jeep in. Again, it took a few days but I do realize mechanics are busy and there was no rush on my end. It was around the 24th of November I believe when I was notified that my jeep was ready for pickup but there were some hiccups. First, my power locks worked fine but my windows didn't roll up and down. Second, I could lock my vehicle with the key fob but not unlock it. They tinkered around with it but couldn't find why the windows weren't rolling up and down and the final bill would be a little over $1,000 dollars. When I went into to pickup my vehicle, I saw the tech I had been working with. He told me, "I'll be right back" so I waited for roughly 20 minutes before another individual came out and said he was supposed to get me checked out. I paid, got my receipt and my keys. I did not receive the original wire harness as I had asked previously. Which I have learned, after consulting an attorney, is against the law. Recently, I had another shop look into what was going on. I was advised that the master control switch for the windows was out and there was an entire relay missing, the relay that helps power the windows. To be quite frank, I am still at a loss for words. In the end, I feel treated as less than a human. I was never rude, never argumentative, and never difficult. Before that last interaction, I recommended their services to anyone that needed help with their car. However, due to how I was treated and the outcome of my last interaction, that is what allowed me to come to the decision to never go there again.
Not impressed. Brought in my vehicle for a diagnostic and they had no clue what the issue was and charged me for the diagnostics and sent me out the door. Today I called and couldn't get a simple quote for repair. Said I needed to provide my name, number, vin ect to get a repair quote. Do people with certain names or numbers get different quotes? How about the same kind of car but with a different vin. It's just silly guys.
Had my brakes go out on me in last snowstorm few days ago and was very scary! So we took Mazda tribute back to Christian Brothers today where we had them worked on in 2017. They did free brake check Master cylinder and brake booster were out and no fluid leak. We purchased these parts in 2017 under 2year 24, 000 mile warranty. Its which ever comes LAST and we did not put on that many miles yet? They are honoring their warranty! ❤️🙏👍🤙. Would have cost me $1044. They have a customer for life from me and my family. Well done Christian Brothers. This is a class act place with honor and keeps their word. Speechless! I give them a 10. 👍
These guys have a nearly five star rating for a reason. They have very friendly customer service and provide a company shuttle if you have to drop your vehicle off. Something totally new to me, after being to many different mechanics, Christian Brothers Automotive provides a detailed text message of the urgent, future attention and good items on your vehicle. They also include pictures and video of damaged and problematic areas of your vehicle. I am extremely happy with my experience with this business!
