I had a warranty issue today with a battery that I recently purchased. The young man that assisted me was extremely helpful, and handled the situation quickly. He is the perfect example of what customer service should be.
Wow I just read the negative review from "Pool Shark". I had a very similar experience. I bought a battery for my truck from this location just over a year ago (the battery had a FULL Warranty Until 11/4/2027 clearly printed on the receipt – total price of the battery was $381.51). I had been having trouble starting my truck for a couple of weeks. I had to jump start it several times, so I took it down to this Batteries Plus location so they could test it. The store employee said it tested fine and recommend I take the truck to the dealer. I took my truck to the dealer and was told there would be a diagnostic fee of $200. I need a reliable vehicle, so I consented to the charge. I got a call a few hours later that the battery voltage drops to 9.6v while cranking and it had a bad cell. The dealer recommended a new battery. Obviously since the testing equipment at Batteries Plus didn’t work the first time I took it for a test, I didn’t have much faith I would get very far taking it back so I told the dealer to put a new battery in, but asked for the old battery so I could take it back to Batteries Plus and see what they would do for me. I just stopped at the Batteries Plus store where I purchased the battery and explained the situation. I was told the only thing they could do would be to warranty out the battery and give me a new one, however I didn’t need a new battery because I just had the dealer put one in. I asked if I could at least get a store credit, I wasn’t looking for a full refund, I was just hoping to recoup a little of the cost I had just incurred, due to Batteries Plus’s faulty testing equipment. The employee told me there was nothing she could do, to which I replied, “well I guess I won’t ever be buying anymore batteries here”. Her response was “Ok, that’s fine thank you”. Batteries Plus just lost another customer, I won’t buy so much as a AA battery there ever again…. Thanks for reading I hope this is helpful to someone.
If you're already set on a purchase you're good. If you're looking to get anything tested or anything replaced under warranty, good luck. I would not make a purchase from this location because if you do have an issue with your purchase, they will be performing the diag to see if it meets the requirements to be warrantied and that's where you are going to have problems. I bought a new battery less than five months ago for my truck. When it's warm I have no issues but I live in the mountains. Temperature is always a ten degree difference but can easily exceed that especially at night. Sometimes 30 degrees or more difference. When it gets pretty cold, I get nothing from this battery. I always have to jump it. I have been to the store on the different occasions for this concern. Tonight I speak to a manager over the phone who tells me if it reads over 10volts they'll replace it under warranty. So with 38 minutes before this manager clocks out for the day, I race from Englewood to Colorado Mills area. I made it in time and a different employee comes outside with their battery tester. It's tests out as "okay" not "good". His tester shows 12.39 volts @ 880CCA and it's 52 degrees outside. He says it's fine and they aren't going to do anything with it. Let me point out the red flag here but first.... I'm only three, in-house classes, away from having my Ford Masters Certification. Certified in both gasoline and diesel engines. This includes electrical, theory & operation, networks & multiplexing, drivability and advanced drivability, advanced performance, just to name a few. So after his battery test I point out the 12.3 volts. I proceed to get out my digital volt ohm meter and start the truck. I show him the truck is charging above 14 volts and ask him why his machine would only show the battery output of 12.3v. Then I remind him of cold temperature being the lead problem and ask how he is going to duplicate it. If it's 52 degrees outside and the system charging at over 14v, wouldn't a test result of 12.3v be of any concern? It's called Ohms Law. The first and most important thing to know about the flow of electrical current. There's an obvious problem at 52 degrees. What you think is going to happen at 10 degrees? If you're not going to duplicate the cold temps, don't tell me there isn't anything wrong with the battery. Especially when it's obvious something isn't quite right. Not sure what kind of training these employees have been thru and maybe that was their topic of discussion as they lined up at the storefront, just watching me as I spoke on the phone with a different location explain everything. I'm going in to that location in the morning because they do recognize the fact of an issue being present and are going to take care of it. Would not recommend anything really from the location in the Colorado Mills area. Just keep moving.
Wow- I am blown away by the service of this place! Trevor helped me replace my battery plate with a smile on his face and made this experience easy. Thank you, Trevor, for your kindness and great customer service!
I stopped over and was met with a sign on the door…back by 2. It was 1:55 so I waited. There were several people also waiting. I left at 2:10. The next day I tried calling. No one answered. So I ordered online…and went over when I got an email.
