Best laptop computer repair in Miami or Broward! My Lenovo x1 carbon laptop was having a display issue. Other shops I checked out weren’t able to help me. I recently had a bit of a convoluted issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad. Out of nowhere, it just stopped charging. It was plugged in, so I didn’t expect or even notice it wasn’t charging until it was down to 30%. Being that low already, I went to work right away trying to figure out why it wouldn’t charge before it completely shut down. I checked the connection to the power port, the plug, and the wall socket—everything was good. My next thought was oh no, a broken power port, which I know is a common Lenovo issue. I also considered the possibility of a faulty charging cord, but I didn’t have a way to test that. Considering both of those, I was definitely leaning toward it being a hardware issue. Then it occurred to me that maybe I missed a software update that somehow affected the charging. I jumped into the Lenovo Vantage app, now scrambling because by this point, the battery was down to 25%. Sure enough, there was a critical battery/power issue update I hadn’t installed yet. I felt a huge sense of relief that it was nothing serious, but that was short-lived. When I tried to install the update, to my utter frustration, it wouldn’t install because my laptop wasn’t charging, and I kept getting an error message that I needed to plug it in (even though it was plugged in). The update that I needed to install, would not install because I was having the issue it was supposed to fix. What an exasperating catch-22! By this point, my battery was down to 19%, and I knew I needed professional help, so I rushed to find a reputable repair shop, hoping to keep some charge left in the battery by the time I brought it in. After searching, I found All Computer Techniques just 4 minutes from my house. I had never heard of them but the reviews were great, and I was running out of time, so I decided to take a chance. I headed straight over and when I arrived, I was greeted right away and introduced to Alex, who asked me to explain the problem. I told him I initially thought it could be the power port or the charging cord—or maybe, if I’m lucky, it’s just the software update that somehow needs to be forced. Alex listened very carefully to everything I had to say and reassured me that they were Lenovo experts and would figure it out. He asked me to leave the laptop and promised to call me back the same day with a diagnosis. Less than 3 hours later, Alex called me and said, “You were right, it’s just the software update. It’s an easy fix.” I was so relieved, and also grateful. I mean, when was the last time you had something repaired and they told you, "You were right!" followed by, “It’s an easy fix”? A less reputable repairman would have found it very easy to pass the problem off as a hardware issue, which would’ve been a more expensive fix for me, but instead, Alex was honest and confirmed it was just the software upgrade. He forced the update through, got everything working perfectly, and charged me a very reasonable price. Door to door, the whole process only took 4 hours. The entire experience was fast, stress-free, and affordable. I’m so grateful I found a company that’s honest, kind, incredibly competent, and hassle-free. And I can’t believe they’re also right in my own neighborhood! All Computer Techniques will now be my go-to place for any computer repairs and I highly recommend them. Now, if only I could just find a car repair shop with this level of integrity and competence, I’d be all set!
