AGC Electronics Plus

I recently had my BELL 9242 HD PVR satellite receiver repaired by Danny who brought my unit back to health and vitality after it suffered a hard drive failure after 16 years worth of faithful service. Danny not only had the parts but the knowledge and expertise to repair this unit. I searched high and low for an electronics repair tech who could tackle this job but could find no one. I found him on Kijiji. The only issue was that he was 140 kilometers away from me or about 90 minutes drive. After speaking to him and having him explain how he would tackle the issue along with specific pricing depending on the faults found, I decided to take a chance. The minute I walked into Danny’s workshop I knew immediately I had found the right guy. He started off by examining the motherboard where he discovered several issues from capacitors to board connections to power supply issues albeit small but could potentially cause me issues down the road. After repairing the motherboard and thoroughly testing the unit he went on to diagnose the hard drive issue which I knew was the main culprit that turned my dual PVR into simply a receiver. If you research any of the Bell product lines you’ll quickly discover that they must have a very specific hard drive installed in order for the motherboard to recognize it. They are virtually impossible to source because of their age. Well, not only did he have one, it was 3 times the capacity of the original 320mb hard drive. After installing the new 1TB hard drive he had me run thru the diagnostics and tests to make sure it worked properly. The whole process him about 75 minutes to complete and I was on my way. I was so happy the 90 drive home didn’t even bother me. Overall great customer service and follow-up. I would highly recommend AGC Electronics and Danny in particular. One last thing, Danny provided me with a one year warranty on the repair. How's that for peace of mind?

I brought in my tv for repair and Danny was a great help. He diagnosed the problem right away. Great customer service and reasonably priced. Will definitely be returning to his store for all my electronics!

“I had a terrible experience at this shop. The owner is very dishonest and unprofessional. Initially, they quoted me $45 to fix my TV, claiming it was a simple software issue. Later, they demanded $140 for a part they said was needed, even though they didn’t fix anything. When I questioned them, they became rude and used disrespectful language. Danny saved Christmas and Santa.Claus. After 25 years of lighting up with different colours,Santa Claus got knocked on the floor. I didn’t think it could be fixed but lo and behold the owner was able to fix it and while I waited. Thank you, thank you, thank you AGC Electronics Plus. Simply amazing. Very nice very kind man….

Nothing but positive things to say about AGC. I was faced with a possible relay issue stopping my oven from reaching temperature. After a few YouTube diagnostic videos I brought my relay board into AGC to see if a couple relays could be replaced since the entire board had of course been discontinued by LG. He quickly tested what he could and suggested I bring the main board to him as well to test so that he wasn't charging me for work I didn't need. Once we verified the issue was definetly pointing towards the relays it was just a matter of ordering parts and returning to the store which I did . He swapped out 3 relays while I waited for a very reasonable price considering he hadn't charged me up to this point. Oven saved!!! Thanks to AGC. I'll definetly return with any other electronic issues.
