Ace Hardware Longmont

I want to love Ace Hardware but this experience isn’t helping that feeling... I called about a large screen sliding door in need of replacement. Spoke to somebody on the phone who said “yes we can do that” to the (accurate) dimensions I gave and said to stop by. I bring the screen to the service counter an hour later and was told that is “too large” for us to replace. I mentioned something about the previous phone conversation and was totally ignored. Having screen replacement experience myself, I was puzzled by this… The local Longmont business I then took the screen to was absolutely puzzled why Ace was unable to perform the repair. Apparently, good help is hard to find these days. Ace dropped a few notches in my book after this.

I walked in purchase keys and they didn't have the key I needed and they told me that they could order the key but it would take six days. I said I would buy the keys and come back and have them cut. Purchased the key and went back in and they told me they could cut the key for but wouldn't because it came from an outside vendor. These people are lazy and refused to do the job they advertise they do when cash is presented to them. I wouldn't shop at this over priced store ever. They up charge so much they can refuse to do advertised business and then laugh at you when your confused.

Ran in to get zip ties. Hailey checked me out. Never greeted me when I walked up to her register, asked about rewards with monotone voice and never said thank you or anything to me at the end of the sale. She seemed miserable to be here. Not a good person to have at a register or at all with her attitude.

I love this store the manager of the kitchen department always has a smile on her face, and she does everything she can to help me find what I want.

The size, staff and quality of product and staff knowledge reminds me of the "old" Hardware store where the staff had /has friendly first hand advice on the products that they sell.
